Re: WCDSB Payroll Contribution Program
The Catholic Community Foundation of Waterloo Region has been very active over the past year in supporting our Catholic families through our schools, parishes and community partners. Programs include traditional support for our students with scholarships, bursaries and awards, significant grants for schools, as well as just-in-time initiatives for schools and community.
Over the past year, we have seen the legacy of challenges created by the pandemic and more recently, more dilemmas created by inflation. We see these challenges for families and students in very real ways, impacting our school and parish communities.
The Foundation needs our help more than ever this year to support our Catholic school community families and to support our schools:
The needs are immediate. The CCFOWR food/gift card program has been a blessing for many of our families. School administrators and social workers contact the Foundation identifying the need and within days, even hours, families receive a dignified hand up and food on their tables.
Waterloo Catholic school administrators or parish priests share the need for support for families in their communities and the Foundation makes every effort to immediately step up with direct support or through its network of community partners. Over the past year, the Foundation has purchased personal care products, refrigerators, funded hotel rooms for displaced families, paid transit fare for parents to get to work and children to social services, the list goes on and on…
Like school communities, the Foundation is currently challenged with few opportunities for traditional fundraising. Yet, the board of directors is determined to maintain support for annual grants to our schools and to their commitment to supporting the traditional scholarship, bursary and awards programs for our students.
The annual CCFOWR Employee Payroll Contribution Program offers several convenient donation options:
A one-time tax deductible donation
Or, you can arrange a donation to be deducted from your WCDSB pay in one lump sum
Or, you can arrange for a donation to be spread over a year.
Retired employees can support our Catholic school and parish communities through a simple one-time tax deductible donation.
Whatever method you choose, you can do so with the confidence that 100% of your donation will benefit the students and families of Waterloo Region Catholic Schools. You can support the broader efforts of the Foundation or predetermine the area where your money can be directed… Arts, Athletics, Faith Formation, Technology, Leadership, or individual schools.
